Sterling Engineering is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist for a long-term opportunity with a stable and well-established organization. This role is ideal for someone with strong data entry skills and prior experience in high-volume invoice processing. The team is down a person who originally started as an admin and grew into AP—this is a great opportunity for someone ready to do the same.

Job Duties:

• Enter and process approximately 300+ invoices weekly using a green screen system (don’t worry—training provided).
• Match vendor invoices to packing slips and purchase orders (3-way match experience is required).
• Issue weekly check runs and manual checks as needed.
• Update Excel-based reports and debt memos—basic Excel skills are helpful but not advanced.
• Resolve vendor discrepancies and returns in a timely, diplomatic manner.
• Reconcile vendor statements and code non-PO invoices.
• Process employee expense reports.
• Reconcile general ledger inventory purchases against physical receipts.
• Apply cash receipts and complete various support tasks including filing and updating internal systems.

Qualifications:

• At least 1–2 years of experience in Accounts Payable, ideally in a smaller manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data entry.
• Comfortable working with green screen software and paper-based processes.
• Experience handling high-volume invoice loads and performing 3-way matches.
• Basic Excel knowledge—enough to work with and update existing spreadsheets.
