New Leash on Life Dog Grooming in Westfield, MA (voted Reader’s Rave’s best local pet groomer the last 3 years in a row) has an opening for a full or part time pet groomer. The position requires the person to perform all pet grooming related duties necessary to ensure that pets are neat, clean, and look their best. Specific duties include bathing, drying, brushing/combing, hair/fur trimming, clipping, and shaving. Duties also include trimming pet nails, cleaning ears, brushing teeth, and anal gland expression. Candidates must be comfortable handling dogs, cats, rabbits, and other small animals of various sizes and temperaments. Candidates must also have and be able to exhibit a high degree of patience with all animals at all times. Many can be nervous during their spa treatment. Lastly, candidates must be RELIABLE. We do understand that life happens, and we can accommodate flexibility in hours and schedule most times. We are open Sun-Thurs, working some Sundays is a must, it’s our busiest day. Qualified candidates must (at minimum) have completed an accredited animal grooming course, or have been trained by an experienced groomer. Some experience is preferred.
