Position Summary

Taylor Duma LLP is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Conflict Specialist to join our team. This position plays a critical role in supporting the firm’s risk management processes by analyzing, identifying, and resolving potential conflicts of interest for new clients, matters, and lateral hires. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with strong research and communication skills, preferably with prior law firm experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough conflict checks for new clients, matters, lateral hires, and potential business development opportunities.
• Analyze conflict reports and identify potential conflicts.
• Work directly with attorneys, paralegals, and firm leadership to resolve conflicts in a timely and confidential manner.
• Maintain accurate records in the firm’s conflict and intake databases.
• Ensure all client intake and matter opening procedures are compliant with firm policies and applicable ethics rules.
• Participate in the development and improvement of internal conflict-check procedures.
• Support the onboarding process for new attorneys and staff by conducting pre-hire conflict reviews.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in conflicts, preferably within a law firm.
• Familiarity with legal ethics rules, particularly related to conflicts of interest.
• Proficiency with conflicts software (e.g., Intapp Open, Elite, Aderant) a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
