Seeking a motivated individual who is ready to apply their knowledge in a fast-paced, real-world environment. The individual will support the deal life-cycle process with the timely preparation and delivery of contracts for all commodities traded, as well as verify broker confirmations and counterparty contracts.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage the contract process from start to finish
- Prepare and send outgoing contacts
- Receive and review incoming contracts
- Ensure accuracy of deal and contract data
- Interact with counterparty contacts and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies
- Maintain records of internal and external contractual correspondence
- Perform ad-hoc, internal control, reporting, and other process duties
- Implement process and procedure improvements
- Assist with testing software application releases related to contract system functionality
- Complete project work assignments
Requirements:
- Technical Contract Expertise: Thorough knowledge of waterborne contracts (charter party agreements, freight terms, laytime clauses, and demurrage calculations) and pipeline transportation agreements (tariff structures, capacity allocation, scheduling, and force majeure provisions).
- Regulatory Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with international maritime regulations (MARPOL, IMO), pipeline regulations (e.g., FERC), and environmental standards related to transportation.
- Negotiation and Stakeholder Collaboration: Proficiency in negotiating contract terms, managing amendments, and fostering collaboration among traders, logistics teams, and counterparties to meet business objectives.
- Commodity Trading Knowledge: Understanding of how logistics, price volatility, geopolitical events, and operational challenges impact waterborne and pipeline contracts.
