Maintenance Technician

• Shift: 1st shift (1st shift - 6:00 am - 2:00 pm)

GENERAL JOB FUNCTION:

• The Maintenance Technician will perform various tasks associated with the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the plant's machinery and equipment. Our maintenance Technicians' main goal is to work as a team, minimizing production downtime by proactively maintaining the machines and equipment. The Maintenance Technician will be required to troubleshoot and respond to quality issues and machine and system failures

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Troubleshoot, adjust, repair, maintain, and rebuild machinery, tooling, and ancillary equipment throughout the plant
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance to ensure the machine and equipment can produce quality parts safely and efficiently
• Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned, including projects or assignments to support the plant

Working Conditions:

The maintenance technician works directly with machinery and equipment in a safety-sensitive position. Frequent exposure to a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment where ambient air temperature can occasionally exceed outside air temperature.

• Must be able to bend at the waist and knees, walk, and stand for extended periods
• Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds when necessary
• Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl under or over, and frequently climb (stairs)
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
• Capable of working in confined spaces and off the ground with height variances
• Must be flexible and able to change schedule and work hours to meet the organization's needs

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Education:

• A High School diploma or equivalent is required
• Completion of trade school, journeyman's program, or formal training as a Maintenance Technician

Work Experience:

• At least two years of experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician
• Hands-on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatics experience in a metal stamping manufacturing environment is preferred
• Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered

Technical Skills:

• Understanding mechanical, air, hydraulic, and other systems, working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices
• Knowledgeable and hands-on experience in working with basic electric 110/220/480 volt
• Able to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics, blueprints, technical procedures, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide inches and pounds using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Organizational & Communication Skills:

• Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently and effectively
• Ability to self-motivate, problem-solve, and work in a dynamic environment
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Ability to work with and communicate effectively with all levels within the organization
• Good verbal and written communication skills
