MEP Construction Firm is looking for a Senior Design Project Manager - Building Systems in San Francisco, CA.! This is a direct hire role and great opportunity to join an organization whose mission is to leave the World better than we found it. The Salary Range: $150,000- $180,000.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Design Project Manager to join our dynamic Project Management Team. This senior-level position is ideal for a self-driven professional with exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills. You will play a pivotal role in managing complex design and construction projects, acting as the Engineer of Record/Prime Consultant and leading multidisciplinary teams to successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage project design teams across disciplines.
• Oversee design coordination, evaluations, and quality control.
• Manage design change processes and contract administration.
• Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
• Facilitate project meetings including kick-offs, coordination, and design reviews.
• Serve as the primary client contact and maintain strong client relationships.
• Coordinate with municipalities and contractors for permitting and construction.
• Ensure alignment with contracted services and manage additional service requests.
• Mentor staff and oversee team performance.
• Conduct site walkthroughs and lead construction coordination.
• Ensure compliance with client performance criteria.
• Manage multiple large-scale, fast-paced projects simultaneously.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Proven leadership in managing large-scale design and construction projects.
• Strong interpersonal and client-facing communication skills.
• Deep understanding of engineering codes, standards, and construction processes.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Comfortable working in both office and field environments.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in project management for large-scale design/construction.
• 5+ years of experience in technical projects (e.g., Mission Critical, Cleanroom, Manufacturing).
• Experience with hyperscale data center projects is highly desirable.
• 10-20 years of experience with design-build contractors or consulting engineering firms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, SharePoint, ACC, and Procore.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Architecture (or equivalent experience).
• PE or AIA License preferred.
• PMP Certification preferred.
• LEED or WELL Accreditation preferred.

Compensation & Work Environment

• Salary range: $150,000-$180,000, based on experience and qualifications.
• Remote or hybrid work options available.
• If hybrid, office locations include San Francisco and San Jose, CA.
